Appointments are continuing for patients registered at Brook Lane Surgery, following a fire yesterday, although these may be held at the neighbouring Fareham Community Hospital (next door) or at Lockswood Surgery in nearby Centre Way, Locks Heath.
Practice Manager Carolyn Hill said: “Unless they have already been contacted by us with other arrangements, patients who already have appointments should still come to Brook Lane, where they may get redirected.
“Patients who want to make appointments should still ring the usual number. They will get redirected to a mobile. This may mean it takes them longer to get through than usual but they will get through. We would like to thank patients for their patience and understanding.
“We are running all our services and clinics as normal. For example the baby clinic will continue tomorrow, although that has been moved to the community hospital. We have not postponed any appointments.
“We are regularly updating our website and would ask patients to look there for updates.
“I would like to thank everyone for the magnificent response. We’ve had people turning up offering warmer clothes and scarves, a coffee shop offering hot drinks and a pizza restaurant sending food for staff. We would also like to thank staff at the community hospital for finding rooms for us. The support from everyone has been amazing.”
