Local resident and Transformation Manager for NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, Helen Coleman, has been awarded the prestigious Action Hampshire Changemaker Award for Innovation in Community, Partnership and Development. The award recognises Helen’s significant contribution to increasing young people’s involvement in, and influence on, health and social care locally.
The Action Hampshire Changemaker Awards celebrate individuals, organisations, and businesses that create a positive impact in Hampshire. These awards acknowledge outstanding achievements across various categories that contribute to the betterment of the community.
Helen’s work has played a vital role in empowering young people, ensuring their voices are heard, and involving them in decisions that impact their healthcare and futures.
Fran White, Associate Director of Policy, Innovation and Partnerships at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, nominated Helen for the award and said:“Helen worked with colleagues at the University of Southampton to deliver a brilliant programme that ensured meaningful engagement with young people in the Integrated Care Strategy. Their work has given young people a voice, equipped them with valuable research skills, and helped shape a plan to address the issues they raised.”
