Residents across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight are being reminded to check local pharmacy opening times ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend, as many pharmacies will have different opening hours.

Pharmacies play a vital role in providing expert health advice, prescriptions and over the counter medication. With NHS services anticipating being busy over the Easter weekend, it’s especially important to know when and where you can access a pharmacy if you need it.
Neil Hardy, Chief Pharmacist at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight, said: “We encourage everyone to check the opening times of their local pharmacies and to collect any repeat prescriptions in advance to avoid running out of essential medication over the bank holiday. Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals who can offer expert advice on minor ailments and provide over the counter treatment without the need of a GP appointment. They are often the most convenient, timely option for a wide range of everyday problems.”
If you run out of prescribed medication, you can request an emergency prescription online via 111.nhs.uk. Alternatively, contact your local community pharmacy team for advice.
