Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (ICB) has provided an update to patients of the Bury Road Surgery, Gosport.
We had announced before Christmas that we had received the resignation from the GP partner at Bury Road for his contract to deliver general medical (GP) services.
We further advised in January 2023 that the ICB was in a contractual process with the practice and that there were a number of complexities to this that needed full discussion.
We can today confirm that an extension to the notice period of the GP’s resignation has been granted until 30 June 2023 and therefore all services will continue to run at the practice until this time.
Keeley Ellis, Locality Director (Primary Care) for the ICB said: “This valuable extension will allow us more time to further consider all of the available options for the ongoing provision for Bury Road Surgery patients.
“May we sincerely thank all patients who completed the survey and attended either the virtual or face-to-face drop in events last month. We truly thank you for your ongoing patience in relation to this matter.”
The ICB aims to further update patients and inform them of the ‘next steps’ in May.
