Personally Identifiable Data is anything that either on its own or with other information would enable a person’s identity to become known. Examples of such include but are not limited to:

references to an identifier such as a name, address, postcode, email address, DOB an 
identification number such as NHS Number, 
location number such as , an online identifier (IP address)
or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

Certain types of personal data are grouped into a Special Category and include: racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation.
